Image
Hi everyone, I'm here to write down my targets and my dreams in my life that I really want to achieve before I turn 22 years old. 18 years old (2013): -I want to go study music in USA. At the moment, I still don't know which university I want to go because I don't know which university is good for music education, I'm going to check it out soon. 20 years old (2015): -I will be in USA by the time, I will go audition to join WGI Pulse Percussion and DCI Bluecoats or Santa Clara Vanguard (depends on who are their staffs). I want to be the first Malaysian to join DCI and WGI . 21 years old (2016): -I will go audition to join WGI Riverside Community College(RCC) Percussion and DCI Blue Devils (my main target). -I will join the DCI I & E(Individual and Ensemble) competition (snare solo). After this: -I will finish up my university life for music education. Then I will come back to Malaysia and start to work as a musician. I want to become a drum teacher, ...

Another experience

Hi readers, I performed in the M3 concert last night, or so called 'Musicians made in Miri' Concert, it was organized by Lu Zhou(绿洲). The musicians there were greatly skilled, most of the performers were students who are studying music courses in university and some have already graduated too. It was a great experience for me, thanks to Terrence who invited me to join him in his performance. my solo We had 2 days of rehearsals at GCM Miri. I dropped my sticks during the both days' rehearsal. The concert committees discussed about me in their meetings after the rehearsals, worrying me that I may be the one who spoil the entire concert, and suggested that it's better if I play save and don't play stick tricks if I couldn't do it. still my solo Knowing that none of them trusted my skills, my confidence was tremendously drained, I was very down, I practiced very hard until the late night, then from morning until the c...

Thailand 2011!

Image
Hey readers! I've just came back from Thailand! I don't know which part of Bangkok I went to but Bangkok is one of it because I went to the cities outside Bangkok too! I was alone all the way from an airport to another airport. I was soooo boring at KLIA because I waited for 7 hours there because the interval between my flight from MYY to KUL and KUL to BKK was 7 hours! But thank God that there were free computers in KLIA, I even watch DCI finals live there!  So I reached Bangkok, Swee Bing picked me up with his friend. Then we departed to BKK's camp! the first impression they gave me! wootz! At there, everyday, I watched them practice, then sometimes Cheer would ask me to drum with them, particularly during warm ups. I also met a nice friend, Ton! Actually he was a member of the snareline, but unfortunately he fell down few weeks ago and deeply hurt his skull, so he told Mr. Kasem that he couldn't march after he got out from the hospital after staying th...

Dearest readers, a thousand of apologizes from me for leaving this blog under construction for so long! The super-duper busy's Larry has come back, back from WCMSB 2011 (World Championship Marching Show Band 2011). But there are something more waiting for me after this, studies is the major one, my 2nd mid-term exams will start on the 20th til the 26th of this month, but I'm gonna miss first half of the exams because I will be flying to Bangkok on this coming Sunday and will come back on the 23rd. I will be going to watch my coaches and Thai friends competing in the TDC(Thailand Drumline Contest) which is on the 19th til the 22nd of August. I'm going many days earlier than the competit...

It's not over..

CHMMB drumline in the lot I just competed in the NatComp competition with my band this morning. We got 1st place in Sarawak and 3rd in Malaysia. Anyway, this is not the final result, because the finals is on the 17th of July(not sure whether we are going or not though) because we're taking part in the WCMSB competition on around 25th to 30th of July. Well I don't really have things to say about the judges this year, but to be honest, our show this morning wasn't really good (for me), but those mistakes will not happen again in the future =D Going to have a rest tomorrow, after that I will be back to my super duper busy life again. Will bring up my percussion team to a very very high level in this 1 month! Alright that's all, readers! Thank you very much for reading and count your blessings =)

Some dots of life

On the 24th of April, me and my school band drumline, CHMMB Drumline competed in the SOX all stars drum and dance competition(Sarawak and Borneo Zone) which is organized by XPAX. Each drumline performed a show in the beginning , and only our drumline was announced that we s traight away got qualified to compete in the finals in KL after every drumline performed. After that, the other 6 drumlines battled with one another, only the CHMMB drumline has nothing to do =.= So we requested to the organizing team, to let us perform another show although we don't have to battle on that day anymore. So they let us to do so :D   Before we went to perform our first show.  waiting for results, chill~    the ending of our first show, focus on behind :D  winning team xD listening comments from the judges after our encore show hehe.. About the finals' stuffs, I really have nothing to say about it. To be honest (not being proud) , I felt nothing at all when the judges...

Snare stand!

Image
Another order of mine from OffWorld Percussion has arrived!  It's a snare stand! Or so called snare snare drum/drum pad stand! Besides, I have also requested OffWorld Percussion to give me a bottle of turtle oil because I've lost mine earlier when they gave me a bottle of it when I purchased their V3 drum pad earlier.  My new stuff! With my V3 drum pad attached to it. Now I'm no more practicing on an ironing board haha. :D Look how awesome is it. It has 3-tiered lightweight construction to extends to your desired height. It's really a good stand, multi-purpose haha.. You can purchase it here . Moreover, I went to uncle Andy's house to prepare stuffs for tomorrow's Youth Sunday Service from this morning til 4:00pm just now. We made cookies, and made bookmarks there. I didn't go to band activity which started from 8:00am til 5:00pm. Aunty Vivienne ever told me that life is about making decisions . I will never forget her words, so I have decided to go...
